Looks like I’ll be teaching a buisness statistics course in the fall semester this year. The course description states that:
“PREREQUISITE: Two years of high school Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, or appropriate score on Math Placement Test. This is an introductory study of basic statistical concepts applied to economic and business problems. Topics include the collection, classification, and presentation of data, statistical description and analysis of data, measures of central tendency and dispersion, elementary probability, sampling, estimation and introduction to hypothesis testing.”
I think this will be a fun class to teach. I believe an investigative class for these students would be very beneficial for their learning and would keep students involved throughout the semester.
